Personal Biography

While International Director he served on the International Membership Committee and chaired the committee during the '97-98' term.
Served on the Executive Committee of LCIF, the committee involved with the grants given out by LCIF, while International Director
Chairman of the Rules of Procedure Committee at 2000 Convention in Hawaii.
Instructor at three Lions Leadership Institutes.
Membership & Extension Seminar Presenter at five International Conventions.
Membership & Extension Seminar Presenter at five USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forums.
During 1991-92 Council Chairmanship, over 50 new clubs were formed in Texas.
Led state in Membership Gain & New Clubs as Governor.
Ed Skypola Forum Instructor  1987 & 1990.

Family:

Wife, Velda,  Three daughters: Julie, Janet, Sammie-Dee. Jimmy and Velda have been married 26 years. Velda has concentrated on her role as wife and mother.   Julie is 25 years old. She is a graduate of West Texas A. & M. University in Canyon. Currently she is teaching first grade in Amarillo. Janet and her husband Josh have a daughter Braylee Quinn who will be one year old in June (2005). Sammie-Dee is is attending college and is married. Her husband's name is Cory. All three girls were very active in their high school extra-curricular activities. They literally grew up in Lionism, accompanying Jimmy & Velda to Lions events around the world at various times.
 
Education:  B.S. -- West Texas A & M University Graduate Work --- University of Arizona.

Church:  Member of Methodist Church. Organized Young Adult Sunday School Class.
Was Sunday School Superintendent.

Was Chairman of Administrative Board of Methodist Church.

 Employment: Public Relations.
Staff of Governor Preston Smith of Texas.
County Judge

Real Estate Investments.

Other Community and Civic Involvement: Was President of Flomot Homecoming Association.
Served on Board of Directors of Water Control & Improvement District.
Served on Board of Directors of Lighthouse Electric Co-op.
Was organizing Chairman of Board of 911 Emergency System in the 26 counties of Panhandle of  Texas.
Served on District Juvenile Probation Board.
Was Chairman of County Salvation Army.
Was County Disaster Management Chairman.
Served on Quitaque Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Served on County Appraisal District Board.
Served on County Boy Scout Committee.
Organized & Chaired County Task Force for Industrial & Tourism Development.
